Our old O’Day 28 came to an unfortunate end on the freeway. The Genoa was torn up a bit, but was still a massive amount of high-tech material. Surely I could make something out of it. I got some great ideas of What can I EASILY make out of an old sail on one of my favorite forums, SailNet. After a couple of hours, I am rather pathetically proud of myself for having made a duffel-type bag and a small ditty toy bag that nests inside.

Fun with GoPro
When you are in a boat with kids, you need as many things as possible to entertain. Preferably as small as possible. One that we took to the BVI last year was a GoPro camera. It’s robust, waterproof and you can wear it on your head!
When Me and Dad Nearly Sunk the Boat
We were going to Burlington we made it half way there and then our engine broke and it started to get water in it and then we called the coast guard and they towed us in to the harbor.

So our O’Day 28 had a little bit of an accident. Go google “sailboat I89” and you’ll find out what happened.
After much looking, we have tracked down a great O’Day 322. A few years newer, and more room for us.
Safety Harnesses for Children
So I know that my children are the light of my life and all that and I’d hate to lose them, but jeez, safety harnesses for children are really expensive! I wonder if people ever make their own. I’ll have to look into that.
