A couple of weeks ago we took the whole week as a family to explore some of Lake Champlain’s best kept secrets, Burton Island, Knight Island and Woods Island. These are three islands in the “inland sea” of Lake Champlain that are also Vermont State Parks. Each is quite different in its size and character, and facilities. All of them are only accessible by boat. Here is the run down.

Tartan Sweeps in Regatta for Lake Champlain

Last weekend was the Regatta for Lake Champlain, a fundraising pursuit race held in Burlington, Vermont. Having read so much that the 70’s Tartan 41 was a hot race boat of the time, I was desperately interested to see how well it would fare against all the hot race boats of today.

That Sinking Feeling
Just for laughs, I thought I would spend a while figuring out that ACTUAL real life capacity of the pumps on Alchemy (as opposed to the ratings on the manufacturers box). The result were quite surprising.
